Video shows technique for filling of root canal with bioceramic paste.
It presents a paradigm shift in root canal obturation.
Last 2mm of root canal are always filled with bioceramic paste only. All root canal walls preferably contact with bioceramic paste only.
In curved canal Lentulo filler is used in upper third of the canal only. Curved part of the canal is filled by condensing the bioceramic paste by using appropriate size NiTi hand spreaders. When very small size (less than # 30 ) and curved canals are to be filled with bioceramic paste dentist must use Dr.Kossev method. I have uploaded video about this method on You Tube, too.
If retreatment is needed bioceramic paste is removed as it is done in cases when MTA or Russian red paste was used. This is rarely, if at all needed.
Please note the difference of sizes of instruments used compared to the size of gutta percha cones used. Gutta cones used are .04 taper for first tooth and .06 for the central incisor. Gutta percha cone serves just to make sure that there is no any air trapped inside the canal and no voids in bioceramic are left. The main root canal obturation material is the bioceramic paste. It sets slowly ( 24 to 72 hours ) and that is why it has long lasting strong antibacterial action . Due to slow setting, corrections are very easily made within 4 hours and easily done within 24 hours after filling.
Bioceramic paste is hydrophillic, does not shrink, bonds chemically to dentin, has long and strong antibacterial action and is absolutely biocompatible
( after setting it's in fact a bone-replacement material )
