Texas FUE hair transplant Restoration Surgery Specialist clinics demonstration by Dr. Diep at www.mhtaclinic.com 866-999-6482. Dr. Diep is one of a few FUE hair transplant surgeon who specializes in Black African American hair restoration. MHTA clinic also provides hair restoration on men & women with frontal hair loss, bald mid scalp, balding or thinning vertex/crown, eyebrows transplant, FUE corrective hair surgery to fix PLUGS, fill in scar from face lift, past strip hair transplant and burn. THE UNIQUENESS OF BLACK AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR RESTORATION..Hair transplant on Black African American is more difficult than Caucasian or Asian due to the curly hair and root. Through many years of experience, I have overcome these challenges with some specific modifications to ensure excellent hair result. The differences are: 1) Unlike Caucasian/white men who tend to have high hair line or Asian men with commonly low hair line, African American can have both medium high and low hair line. 2) The Black's Zigzag line is smaller in amplitude than the Caucasian's or Asian's Zigzag lines, because many Black men like to shave their hairline very straight. 3) Due to the curly nature of Black's hair, the angle placement is not as important as the straight or wavy hair. However, I will still follow the natural hair angle with variation in degree at different locations to ensure natural growth, allowing the patient to comb his/her hair any direction or style that he or she desired. 4) The Black curly hairs & roots can easily be damaged with conventional tools and techniques. I have established special tools and methods to place in the hair grafts with a "Screw In" pattern to ensure healthy transplanting of hair grafts without damaging the bulbs. 5) Less efficient to extract curly black hair than straight hair because of higher chance of damaging the hair bulbs, more so with FUE technique than Strip harvesting method. 6) Thick curly hair will have better coverage than straight thin hair, allowing the individual to transplant less hair with good coverage. 7) Due to the medium to dark skin, the post op redness rarely noticeable. However, if the redness does occur, it will disappear faster than the pale white "Histamine positive" skins. As I have mentioned to you, hair transplant on Black African American man is very delicate and unique. The fragile curly roots can easily be damaged if handled incorrectly by inexperienced hands, which may lead to poor growth. I have performed many hair transplant procedures on Black men with excellent results. Many patients of African descent from around the United States and different countries have sought me out for their hair restoration. FUE VS STRIP HARVESTING
The one method is called the traditional "Strip" harvesting and the other is FUE. Strip harvesting involves cutting a strip of skin in the back of your head and dissects it down under a microscope to each individual follicle before transplanting one graft at a time into the bald spot. The PRO for strip harvesting are: cheaper than FUE and move more hair at one time, called mega session performing up to 5,000 grafts per session. The CON for Strip harvesting are: a little bit more invasive, possible numbness and a small line of scar in the back of the head. On the other hand, the (FUE) Follicular Unit of Extraction hair transplant means extracting one graft at a time from the donor site. The PRO for FUE are: NO VISIBLE SCAR even when the head is shaved completely, LESS INVASIVE, no bleeding, no numbness and less painful during recovery. Actually, there are many small punctated scars from the FUE method which scattered throughout the head and cannot easily be seen. The CON for FUE are: more expensive than the strip harvesting because it is more time consuming and more demanding on the skill and time of the surgeon. The other CON of FUE are; the maximum amount of graft that can be harvested in one sitting is limited to 2,000 grafts per day, and rare cyst formation which normally resolve by itself.
