Students are the top priority for Missouri State University and the academic advisers on campus help develop students who are academically prepared and able to take their positions as citizens contributing to the common good.
The National Academic Advising Association has recognized Missouri States commitment to academic excellence in this area for many years. Since1997 the University has received ten state advising awards, and 20 national advising awards.
For 2009, two outstanding adviser awards have been given to faculty and staff at Missouri State by the National Academic Advising Association. These awards were given to Tracy Glaessgen, academic adviser in the Academic Advisement Center, and Carmen Boyd, Program Director in Dietetics. Tonight we also honor another academic adviser, Amy Marie Aufdembrink, who won the Wesley R. Habley National Academic Association Summer Institutes scholarship.
And on the court to honor tonights honorees is Associate Provost Dr. John Catau. Ladies and gentlemen, please acknowledge the work of these fine academic advisers at Missouri State. They are in the Bancorp South Academic Spotlight
