I just can't prevent this terrible white mold from parasitizing my Cephalotus follicularis. It's been getting worse over the years. When I first got it about 10 yrs ago, bright light would work to prevent mold... then it got worse. Now the moment it's brought inside, it starts molding... now I have to try and grow it outside all year, including winter!!! Incidentally, the Staghorn Sundew will also have to tolerate this experiment as it's in the same pot.

  • How are they doing so far???

  • @JynMeyer still frozen solid under the snow. starting to warm up a bit here and am somewhat anxious to see how they fared the winter

  • Very right you are about the dormancy, and sorry about coming acroos as doubting your plan! I was just asking about the cold being maybe a problem, for the Ceps even grow what we call uncarnivorous leaves at that time of rest we call dormancy. I am looking forward to learning more from your study, thanks for doing it and note, I'm always open to learning more about this wonderful hobby! I so enjoy all you post...Thanks my Friend!

  • @acarnivorous not a problem... i don't even know if this will be successful so I'm taking more videos... wait until you see my very recent updates on this plant! So far, it's as healthy as my Sarracenia purpurea! and THAT'S the hardiest of all the carnivores....but now I can't see the plant because it's buried under 2 feet of snow from last night's storm!! - but that's a good thing.

  • You must have no pest inside with all these plants.

  • Jerphum, lol If I were to breed all mine together...I have a killer of a plant for sure, hee hee

  • Wow, on the show....Here in San Antonio, Texas it is now 88 degrees and last night was 65 degrees! Good luck my friend!

  • You should selectively breed your plants to get the perfect meat eating plant!

  • 'Whoite'

I like how you said that word.

  • @acarnivorous I have seen your channel and i dont doubt you, but dont cephs undergo dormancy in the wild where there are periods of very cold winter in which they die down and than grow back?
