ATWT: Luke's Story - Part 373

Luke is upset about Holden and Carlys affair and tells Noah it makes him think no relationship can last. Noah disputes that, but Luke says he doesnt even know where they stand since they live together but arent physical. Noah admits hes not ready to go to the next step but he loves Luke and will always be there for him and Luke is touched.

Holden and Carly meet by the pond to try to resolve their dilemma. Carly insists Holden must tell Lily their affair meant nothing, but Holden says thats not true. Carly admits hes right but says it doesnt do them any good to dwell on it. Luke comes to the pond for a swim and sees them together. He gets angry with his father and when Carly intervenes, saying theyre just trying to fix things. Luke suggests they start by never seeing each other again. After Luke goes, Carly says hes right. Holden doesnt know how he can lie to Lily but Carly says go through the motions of being a loving husband whether Lily wants it or not, and after a while, it will feel right. They part, both aching.

Are there no couples that are friends too. I think having an affair is the worst thing that can happen in a marriage or committed relationship. If you are unhappy in your relationship/marriage why not end it before you do it with someone else. Jack and Carley keep hurting each other and so does Holden and Lilly.

I knew it! neither of those boys have had sex with another guy. I'm 99 percent sure Luke is a virgin all the way around.

Not that I expect any accuracy in representation on this show, but if they ever do finally 'do it' at least one of them will be walking a little funny afterward.

And how do we know we wouldn't make everyone, including us, happy if we cut off this relationship in the long run? Why should we try and do damage on others we love that can't be undone?

I don't believe in true love anymore, not less the feelings we think we have toward someone that will eventually lead to love.

There are more sparkles in Holden's eyes looking at Carly than at this new Lily...

Holden/Carly situation just makes me all confused about true love. How do we know what true love is, or more simply, what 'love' is? We have been talking about 'pursuing true love no matter what others think of us (taking the example of Nuke)', but what if this particular relationship can hurt all the people around us, like the one Holden and Carly have?

What kind of jerk are you Holden. For the last I don't know 10 months or so, your son has been going through Hell and you haven't been there for him at all. Your daughter has been going through Anorexia and Bolemia and you haven't been there. Your wife has been trying to talk to you and kept being pushed away to the now deceased Dusty, while you were angry with her. Your cousin and best friend have tried to fix their relationship and you jump in it with her? You need a Psych ward.
