The album has a very good production, macabre lyrics with (suprisingly to black metal) strong message, smart references to occultism (Edgar Poe's Mask of Red Death and Aleister Crowley),dark atmosphere, awesome music arrangements, fancy use of music samples and themes (tribute toclassical composers such as Stravinski and Borodin!). If it is not a best black metal opus (its only matter of taste), then without any doubts, it is the MOST MATURE black metal material ever released.
