This is the emotional story on Kevin Garnett and his friend Malik Sealy. Most KG fans know this story well, and understand its place in the life of Kevin Garnett. It's hard to believe that it has been 10 years. KG had just turned 24 on May 19, 2000. Early on May 20th, Sealy was returning home from attending KG's birthday party...

This feature aired yesterday during halftime of Game 4 of the Celtics-Cavaliers series on ABC. However, the interview here was actually done in 2008, not long after KG won the championship. Most of this piece and footage is derived from the Kevin Garnett "KG" DVD. ABC just refurbished and re-edited it because we are approaching the 10 year mark of Malik Sealy's tragic card accident and death.

Interesting that ABC decided to air this more than a week earlier -- probably in the event that the Celtics don't make it past the semifinals. Hopefully, KG and company will have something to say about that.

RIP Malik Sealy

Again, thanks to VenomIndustries of MixMakers for the incredible HD cap.

  • @TheRealCP13 Malik wasn't drunk, the guy who hit him was. I wish Malik was still alive and idiot drunk drivers could be kept off the streets forever.

  • This is honestly so sad. I feel for Kevin's pain. It's like losing a piece of you when you lose someone like that.

  • If you get caught driving drunk once, you should lose your license forever.
