I like the graphic on top. If more stations used something like that - unobtrusive, yet descriptive - it would be a great improvement from the tiny maps.

This was on the day I was born. That's pretty interesting that a tornado outbreak happened that same day.

Describe the funnel sightings- was it one after another, or was there several swirling around in the same wall cloud??

first there was the BEEEEEEEEEEEP......BEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEP....BEEEEEEEEEEEP...BEEEE EEEEEP and then THE ANNOYING EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM (REMINDS ME OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FIRE DRILLS!!!) -
@jw870206 was this was a ADC/Collins DopRad 32 unit with all of 200 watts
-
notice how the radar was "live"...

I remember how bad the weather was that day. Also, I was 9 years old when this happened.

In light of the events of April 3, 1974 which are still fresh in so many peoples' minds, I would imagine the people of Louisville take tornado safety very seriously. Eerie to hear him mention Brandenburg... that town of course was virtually wiped out in the '74 storm. Did anything come of this touchdown here?

wow!
What happened at 1:12? Is that the tornado touching down? (the cable went out for a second as it touched down in Huntsville, Alabama according to some other videos)

I remember that annoying beeping. It woke me up every time a storm warning was issued.

I remember calling in the report from Galena where I was at the time at the fire station there. We had several funnels swirling around in the sky. Pretty wild that day.
