The Innocence Project refers to a number of non-profit legal clinics in the United States. The most well known is based at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University in New York City. It directly serves defendants who can conclusively be proven innocent by DNA testing of evidence done after their convictions.
As of February 9, 2007 194 defendants previously convicted of serious crimes in the United States had been exonerated by DNA testing. Almost all of these convictions involved some form of sexual assault and approximately 25% involved murder.
The Innocence Project was established in the wake of a landmark study by the United States Department of Justice and the United States Senate, in conjunction with Columbia Law School. Among the study's estimates are a 5% failure rate in the U.S. justice system, which suggests as many as 100,000 falsely convicted prisoners. Other reports place the estimate as high as 10%.

As far as I am concerned he should get a million dollars for each year. I hope he sues the state and wins.

I would tell the police, the judge and the 12 assholes to give me an apology for taking away my life for something I didn't commit

Here's the way things really are....States know that people are being free-cased. They just don't care. The system will cover for itself until ALOTof media starts digging. Why? You can say it's to stop 'POTENTIAL' crime from occuring or whatever reason you like. But, also look at the profit margin from rapidly growing prison industries. Guess who gets released early? The inmates that cause trouble. Why? Cause the state will get more tax dollars for re-arresting them later. It's all about $!

What a SICK, FLAWED system we have here in the U.S.! It is BEYOND APPALLING and REPREHENSIBLE the number of innocents are as high as they are! I'm sure in light of these findings, many judges and prosecuters can't sleep well at night. How EMBARRASSING!

Grateful for Ken Wyniemko's freedom. Thanks Innocence Project. Another wrongfully convicted man is Ira Einhorn, in a Pennsylvania jail for a murder there is no scientific evidence he committed. No blood, DNA, witnesses, none.
Holly Maddux's body was found on Ira's back porch, which has multiple entrance points. There was no evidence in his apartment of a murder or the clean up of a murder.
