In 1986 I was diagnosed with multiple personalities, and I decided not to integrate. This video is part of my larger coming out story.
About 8 years ago I set up a camera and recorded 3 members of my internal family. The intention was for us to be able to watch the video to convey to hidden "others" inside that it is now safe to come out, introduce ourselves, and hope that they would be part of the democratization of our shared life. As such, it helped enormously.
This video is in 2 parts: Part 1 has Aliessa of Crisses in the introduction while setting up the camera and audio equipment, then the real filming begins with Hart of Crisses talking to the camera. Part 2 has Taelee of Crisses with her brusque rant, then Aliessa of Crisses returns to share her reflections.
We planned to do more taping of other people in us, but the poor audio quality (we had not hooked up our 2 external mics correctly so only the camera mic was recording) disconcerted and disappointed us. The daunting task of post-edit work and subsequent self-improvement work on our head swamped us. It took us until today -- years, jobs, kid-raising, and running several businesses later -- to complete the closed captioning, split the video, and upload it.
We decided to caption and release this video to the public after deciding to become 100% out-of-the-closet as someone diagnosed with multiple personalities (or Dissociative Identity Disorder) and publish our written autobiography (excerpts & readings: http://thecrissinglink.com/Main/Excerpts ). Sorry I babbled so much in the beginning...I was really nervous. -- Hart of Crisses
