Ry Cooder and the Chicken Skin Band standing to attention and performing He'll Have To Go by one of my mother's favourites, Jim Reeves. This from Saturday Night Live in November 1976. Another great shirt... www.rycooderstuff.co.uk

  • @dlgelter; Oh my god we are patient aren`t we. This kind of response can turn you off any kind of music but in my case you are just another ignorant. I hope my english does not annoy

you too much, you see I` norwegian and i`ve had a brainhemorrige?Did that turn out right?

  • Nice! I,also, do covers... of Jim Reeves, Dean Martin, Johnny Cash.......... and others!

  • THIS IS TRUE TEX_MEX AT ITS BEST

  • @jmodmon2 Yes! Borderline is such a great album! I also stumbled upon this version after loving Ry for years, never knowing he'd covered this Jim song, also a tune that my mom introduced to me. :) I bet your mother was lovely. :)

  • man oh man....

  • I love this song. Better than Jim Reeves.

  • okay so even if jim reeves was better (it's a matter of taste) does that make this bullshit? unbelievable how hostile some people are. i happen to adore ry and not just because he's a dynamite performer, but also as an ethnomusicologist (as was john hartford) whether he calls himself that or not. one or a thousand people's preferring a different version of this song doesn't change that.

  • Wow, here's a nice find; thanks for posting; My mom ( who resides in Heaven circa March 1987), and her favorite Jim Reeves song , a true classic, collides with one of the music industry's and my own personal hidden treasure's. Great performance, I think there are actually some young people out there to who are starting to appreciate talented """"musicians""""; I know, it's all a matter of taste; Try Ry Cooder "Borderline" cd or album whatever you can get; Great Stuff!!

  • I love this song of the fantastic Ry Cooder - sorry that he don't played a slide solo in here - but Flaco Jimenz does it right

  • ry is guitar and passion. the best bottleneck and i believe in his beliefs. he disnae stack himself around popstars
