  • While you got a great shot in this video I am rather disappointed, 8699 has a Leslie S-5T RRO horn, the best horn ever, and he hardly leaned on it.

  • actually i am about a mile from the nearest crossing, that was just a courtesy blast he gave me as he was passing by.

  • Maybe Chicago IL?

  • good question i can not find these trains on any of the websites that lists NS train numbers. i also have spotted 52A a few times over recent weeks; i think the even numbers are loads to gainesville and the odds are empties out, but i cant deduce any more than that without help.

  • nice i was wondering what 50Q and 51Q were haha

  • yep its the grain trains between the midwest and gainesville. i cant figure out exactly where they originate/terminate at the other end.

  • You're right, the even #'s are loads & the odd ones are mty's. As for origin...they vary. As do destination. Ex: today a 52A might go to Gainesville, and tomorrow, to Toccoa. With these, the symbol and the date are necessary to determine orig./dest. Hope that helps....

  • It's good he did. Today I was searching all of the NS units with RS-5T horns and to my surprise I found videos with some of them leading. This one sounds fairly clear, unlike the one I just filmed on NS 3430.
