We spent most of the summer skirting our travel trailer with plywood panels. The rep at Home Depot said the wood is used to build sheds so it's weatherized. We'll see. I bought several thermal curtain panels and sew them together to create pockets for the rigid insulation (I know it sounds like I'm saying "installation"). I wanted to put down plastic wrap on the ground underneath then add a few bales of fiberglass insulation like a regular crawlspace but we ran out of dough. Next time.
The windows are the most energy inefficient one pane. Right now I've only bought 2 King sized fleece blankets. Cut one to cover two windows and the other is being used as a winter bed skirt. I can easily see myself buying 3 more to cover the other 6 windows. This spring we plan to plant some evergreen shrubs to help with external insulation.
We don't have a well yet so the pipes are basically still in winterized mode. Only had the travel trailer for a year so we've never used them either. More on that in the future. We have a 5 gallon tank for small uses and there's the YMCA for daily baths. I know some trailer parks and camp grounds charge for bathing but we prefer the Y. There's also a composting toilet from http://www.natureshead.net made with RVs and boats in mind. When we finally have the cabin built I'm aiming for a Biolet 10 Standard that has a built in heater for liquid evaporation.
