Kenya Uganda Migingo Island row

Kenyans are waiting in bated breath to hear what president Mwai Kibaki will say as a fresh diplomatic row broke out between Kenya and Uganda on Tuesday after President Museveni claimed that the disputed Migingo Island may be in Kenya, but its waters are in Uganda. The Kenya government reacted swiftly and angrily, terming the Ugandan leaders remarks as arrogant, unintelligent and callous. Musevenis words have rubbed Kenya authorities the wrong way putting the diplomatic ties between the countries on a balance. The Ugandan Head of State said Kenyans will not be allowed to fish from the island that has been at the centre of a diplomatic row between the two countries.

India election 2009: Exit polls suggest weak coalition

It is the instability and not the coalition which is an issue when it comes to Indian Election results. It would be relatively easier for the Congress to form a majority in the Lok Sabha under the Prime Ministership of Manmohan Singh although it remains to be seen what kind of give and take happens in the days to come. If the Congress led alliance comes to power it will atleast ensure continuity of the reform policies besides ensure continuation of reform process? Formation of any kind of alliance with the Third Front may not be appropriate in deciding the vital economic and foreign affairs of the country given their past record. Lets not panic and lets wait for the final results.
