I am excited to get back to my college, My major is Ceramics and pottery i would be interested in Trying this Burnish techinique on some of my projects :)
I love to burnish my pieces! The silky finish is wonderful. I have a favorite tool that I use to burnish. I use a outdoor decorative light bulb. The point is nicely rounded to fit in groves and works like a finger without the fingernail. Different sizes are available for different shapes. The clear ones work best as the coloured ones tend to leave their colour behind. I have also used the back of a spoon to burnish.
I use for burnishing a piece of flexible teflon (plastic), on the wheel and off the wheel; after that I do some pitfiring using "sulfato de cobre" and it looks like terra sigitala, very nice
my ceramics teacher showed me this method, its great!

Simon
did you dye your hair?
You've gone ginger instead of your usual intense black.
