CD now available - Email sosauto@comcast.net for details.

If video doesn't play try this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38fxhbVgPeM Finger picking a vintage Martin 0018. 'This' is the intro to James Taylor's 'Mexico'. 'That' is 'Windy and Warm' by John D Loudermilk - made famous by Chet Atkins.

I want to thank YouTube for featuring this video. I never dreamed this little clip would be so warmly received by the YouTube community. As a hobby guitar player, being seen by over half a million viewers in less than 2 months could only happen here on YouTube.
Of all the comments that come in, the ones that speak of my videos encouraging them to either take up guitar or renew their interest in it are the most heartwarming. To hear that someone is inspired by them is deeply humbling. Thank you.

  • This is so brilliant. Would love to learn to play like this rather than just using a plectrum. Is this peice just made up of different bits n peices? I've seen John D. Loudermilk mentioned... If you could mention a few good songs of his that would help me learn this sort of playing I'd be much appreciated!

    Thank you,

    Ben (UK)

  • @Crafty1980 Hi Ben - Thx for the kind words. I learned by listening to Chet Atkins and James Taylor.

  • Awesome! I have been playing my own version of this song for years!! A friend of mine showed me how, and I played what I could remember, so it hardly sounds like this, but it is great to hear the real song!! Your guitar sounds beautiful by the way!! Thanks for posting, have a great day

  • @kidnoz Well...this isn't much like the original John D. Loudermilk version. Just what I've hacked together by ear...but it doesn't sound too bad.

  • Hey man this is cool, we are just about as far apart as night and day but thats ok because we are both musicians, I am a tasteful young man and can appreciate pieces like this and i was wonder what your motivation for writing songs/playing guitar is. Thanks
