  • As a former Preterist, I have to say that to claim that the Fathers were "Preterist" is to say that you have not read the Fathers within their full context. My guess is that you did the same thing I did, which is to just read certain texts out of context that support your position. However, if you read the Fathers in full context, you will hopefully find the Historic Christian Church, and enter into Eastern Orthodoxy as I did (which by the way could be considered "partial preterist".

  • @artdanks Great to hear from you, former-pret. I don't think that my thesis was that the Fathers were "preterist", but that they did have some preterist distinctives that are not common in futurist modes of thought. Irenaeus was clearly a futurist, and champion of the resurrection of the body. Thanks again for your comments and testimony.

  • this is all bull shit....church 'history' is based on a pack of lies for all we know.

  • to assert is not to demonstrate.

  • Question: When do you believe the Book of Revelation was written?

  • In the first century.

  • @Bibletouchstone Can I get your sources for Irenaeus not being a preterist please. I need to prove to others that Irenaeus was NOT a preterist. I am a former futurist though. I am an historicist.

  • Johns book of Revelation was written about 63 AD it can be proven.
