The Collared Peccary is also called the "Javilina" pronounced (Have-ah-Leena). They are an amazing animal that currently lives in parts of South and Central America and in the United States are found only in the Southwest. These were filmed deep in the Arizona back country at a remote camp. Its not a pig, although its snout and hooves are unmistakeably similar. Its a hardy desert survivor, and an amazing species to admire. I'm Mark Fraser and you can find me at http://www.naturewalkswithmark.org. Enjoy the wonder of the natural world!

Did you know?
Peccary can weight up to 65 pounds!
They are capable of running up to 25 miles per hour!
They love to eat "Prickly Pear" cactus and get much of their water that way!
Travel in groups with up to 30 animals!
