Mike - very proud of your strong determination and perserverance - and very proud of all you've accomplished....and the best is yet to come! Great video - so glad you're involved with Autisim Speaks - sounds like they've been great to you, and you certainly have so much to offer to so many - sharing your experiences helps lots of others realize they are not alone...great job!

@miked31784 I've tried a bunch of medications and it was tons better and with no real side affects compared with any other one. It's also processed through the liver, not the brain which is better. Also "House Rules" by Jodi Picoult is a more informative book on Asperger's. I have read both that and "Look Me In the Eye". It is fiction though but with good information and multiple viewpoints.
Thank you for sharing your story!

Really thought your video was great Mike. Like you my parents for a long time didn't know what was wrong with me. They thought that I was ADHD and they put me on Ritalin and a whole bunch of other drugs before I was finally diagnosed as autistic. I was incredibly artistic and I loved to write as a child, I used to draw pipe organs and the typewriter was one of my favorite "toys" in the world to play with.

@BigD4348 I thank you for your comments. I am glad to get a chance to do the speech on YouTube and the chance to do my video series. It gives me the chance to talk about my experiences and hopefully others could learn from me. I also enjoy seeing the other videos that are posted on here. It gives me the chance to learn about them as well.
