Unique Selling Point - Iain Scott of Enterprise Cafe explains the phrase Unique Selling Point in his trademark Glasgow way.
Many people are asked when doing a business plan "what is your usp or unique selling point?". Iain points out that when you are about to start a business it is very difficult to explain this.When you have a new business idea that is very different from everything else it is even harder to explain your USP.too many business schools and management text books focus on the need for a usp without working on the key element-speak to your customer.Iain explaines that it is only until you have met with and spoken to and listened to lots of people who use your product or service that you will be able to explain the usp.
He then goes on to point out that it changes.
Iain's book " Tortoise Walking for Beginners-Think and Act like an Entrepreneur" explaines how the process works.
If you want to raise finance this is a crucial question but you can only answer by getting out and about talking and listening to people.
