  • and while i'm here...might as well say...

MAY 3RD, OLD LONDON TOWN, JAMES MARSTERS LIIIIIIIIIVE WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • fanservice... Gotta love it:P

  • what's fanservice?

  • it's when the celebrities does things that fans wants them to do.

Examples are when Gackt kissed another man on stage. To service the fans. Or at RinCon when Craig Parker dressed like an elf-maiden... because the fans wanted it. It's to please the fans. Yaaa meeean?

Fan-service. Service for the fans. Doing what they want. Quite self-explaining really:)

  • well the question's always easy if you know the answer :P yeah ok so i was being thick...but fanservice rang a bell and it is aaactually an online thingy (thanks google) to be fair...just nothing to do with what you meant :)

hail king james of marsters, hail

  • LOL! I KNEW he enjoyed it cause those kissing scenes in Torchwood were HOTT! Lol I watched it just to see him make out with John Barrowman. I've always wanted to see a Spike/Angel relationship, cause watching Buffy, we all kind of felt it... Even Joss Whedon.

  • so true!! have you watched Angel? there's more than a hint near the end of season 5 that something happened between them when they were evil...confirmed by joss in a commentary... : )

  • John Barrowman has sort of already answered this. He was asked who was his best screen or stage kisser ever. He said Alexis Denisof (?!?!). Then he added that James Marsters was pretty good too.

Mr Denisof must have made one hell of an impression because that was back in 1993! They played a gay couple in a stage play in England, that also starred Anthony Head.

Small world. Maybe John B is just working his way through the Buffy-verse men? ;)

  • The story I heard, not confirmed by Mr Marsters to my knowledge, was that John Barrowman said "We don't have to rehearse the kiss but just do it and get it in one take." But JM said he was more than happy to rehearse it, several times. He was also keen to do several takes. This is because his girlfriend wanted to see him kiss a man (it's not just the fans!), so he brought her to the set so she could watch. And she got more and more turned on the more times they did it. Allegedly.

  • yum

  • @queenastilon That's funny, because AD played Wesley, who was a bad kisser xD

  • magnetic, sorry about repeating! I'm too afraid of not being clear sometimes.

Honestly, I thought Angel said that in a sneering voice:- daring him, & to point out that HE just took her & to shock Will out of the dream that Dru was his.

The Spangelly bits: 1) when they first met & Angel said he wanted to spend time with a man & asked if that meant he was "some kind of deviant" (gay), 2) Angel's hand on Will's knee in the coach later.

PS: yes, "Spike" the distributors! lol

  • Okay, but why did you repeat that line *again*? I'm just hungarian, not dumb:) The hungarian movie distributors released the series here with this translation. What would I do, stab them with a spike?:D Besides, I still made my first comment because Jowizkid mentioned Joss and his hints from a Spangel plot. I know, there is *NO* Spangel, silly hungarian bitch! :P But anyway, do you think that Angelus said "come and take her" with erotic voice, because he wanted to kung fu fighting with Spike?

  • magnetic, Replies sometimes get lost here

Angelus wasn't inviting William to a threesome. He said to Will, AFTER he was done, "...if you want her, come and take her"

Spike calls Angel "hero" *sarcastically*. He says Drusilla sired him (made him vampire) but Angel made him a monster. "tempted" is simpy wrong; makes no sense! William was at first quite soft but Angel taught him brutality & hurt him emotionally, making him a monster.

  • Is it me, or Youtube didn't send my answer to your comment?:D Anyway, I just said that I commented to jowizkid first, in the "hints" issue. I didn't really go to the correct line, I've just recalled that in the fighting scene was a memory from the Angelus/Dru "in flagranti", and Angelus practically invited Spike to a threesome. And then actually in the hungarian dub Spike says," teach me, my hero" and "Drusilla tempted me, but you! You made me a monster."

  • "...I wouildn't mind to watch David with James..." magnetic, personally I suppose I wouldn't exactly *mind* but I would not pay money to see it (as they say). I've gone off David Boreanaz a bit, years ago, but I take your point.

In fact, after seeing that kiss in Torchwood, many fans have said they wished it had been Spike & Angel.

Also, a lot of past Angel fans became Torchwood fans.

  • magneticmisery, you say you can't see the big difference between "sired" and "tempted"... if I understand you?

"Sire" means made a vampire but Angel taught him to be vicious because Dru was too crazy and not able to. That IS a big difference with "tempted" / "spoiled"

I've done subtitling myself, you have to make choices & meet deadlines. Many translators don't get the subleties, or care.

Your English is wonderful, by the way!

  • I commented this one :"Small world. Maybe John B is just working his way through the Buffy-verse men? " I meant maybe David is on the list, also :D But I wouldn't mind to watch David with James...

  • Further to the who-was-the-best-kisser question, JB said in another interview, when asked who was the best kisser in Torchwood (James Marsters, Matt Rippy or Gareth David Lloyd) that he had to say Gareth because he was Jack's long term guy. Can't really see the logic there; sounds more like he was saying he had to be nice to GDL.
