Erasmus Dream Detector
Once upon a time there was a man called Erasmus. He lived a very long time ago in Rotterdam. That is where his name comes from. He was interested in philosophy, language, literature, god and the world and to educate himself he travelled a lot. His great strength was the connection of all his interests.
My name is Lilia. My friends call me Lila. I was born in Siberia, grew up in Kazakhstan -- so I'm from Russia. Now I'm living in Germany and my next target is France. The country of fashion, de la baguette... I am going to taste all possible kinds of French cheese!
I am also interested in other things, such as going on a mushroom foray, taekwondo, turtles, music. I just want to go to France! Thanks to Erasmus-Program I can go to one of the cities. I applied to 10 cities.
Already as a child Erasmus Desiderius participated in music classes. His vocal teacher was Jacob Obrecht from Utrecht. I already found my vocal master, his name is Martin Wölfel. He is teaching vocals at the Robert-Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf. I am studying sound and video engineering at the Institute of Music and Media in Düsseldorf. It is a program of study where you can connect your musical side (for me it is classical voice) with your technical side. So you can study sound studio technique, video technique...
But in this year thanks Erasmus I have the possibility to go to France and deal only with my musical side. I also sing in a band that is called the Spiderpigs, we play experimental Rock & Roll -- but I deal with my voice very carefully.
Erasmus of Rotterdam had... wind! Erasmus of Rotterdam had a distinctive communication urge. He wrote almost thousand words daily, either one of his 150 books or one of his famous letters that have been read not only by his friends, but almost the whole Europe. By the time I have studied in France I will be trained opera singer. After all I always feel very comfortable at the stage. I'm sorry....
Ok, it is not that simple, for example for my Erasmus application I had to record a CD with my audition repertoire and this was really hard work. But to sing means a lot of work and daily practice. And this is what I'm going to do in France. I want to improve my vocals, my French pronunciation and all my steps I will record in my video diary. This will be my letters to my friends and to the whole world.
As I already said I applied to 10 cities. I already have a positive answer from one conservatoire. Which one it is you will get to know in the first episode of my video diary.
