  • Daniel is a brave chap and a cool writer, he does'nt mind throwing his wildest ideas out there and is a pretty good narrator of the psychedelic domain. Anyone with harsh words for him is just jealous..not getting laid, and really fuckin misrable. Cheer up!

  • i'm not sure about that, it's pretty hard to write out an objective explanation of one's psychedelic experiences; its not like he can step outside of his own body and observe himself- he's giving us his background info in his books so we can understand the context that his stories are taking place in.

  • The way I view psychedelics: Compounds which interact with processes in the brain to effect our state of consciousness. For me, I have a hard time believing that these molecules hold any intrinsic properties of "higher powers". I just like to look at psychedelics as a tool to give our consciousness a different point of view. Humans, thought, and consciousness are just a product of extremely fortunate series of interactions between the physical universe.

  • Right on. People need to speak up for the support of psychedelics in our world's culture.

    Peace

Where have all the orators gone?

  • again, this is an opinion. what you mean to say is anyone who disagrees with you is all of those things--which is ridiculous. stop hating others because they think differently. if you understood half of what daniel pinchbeck fails miserably to try and teach, you would care less about your ego and what others think

  • i bet daniel pinchbeck himself gave my comment a thumbs down.

  • a very poor man's terence.

  • hear hear!

  • Waterpixie: Well put--the LAST thing we as humans need to be cynical/jaded about is the potential for spiritual experiences and psychedelics to heal and transform us. To phrase that positively: we are still at the tip of the iceberg with respect to rediscovering and employing our connection to sacred plants and spiritual practices. Speakers/experiencers like Daniel are still important and relevant, because many people still need introductory information on these topics. Unity!
