When I was a very young boy I remember an old country tavern my folks stopped at. There was a Wurlitzer juke box complete with bubbling lights. On it there were two particular songs I loved to play when I was given a dime to drop into the slot. One was the Patti Page record of "Old Cape Cod" and the other was Gogi Grant's "The Wayward Wind". I like the song Old Cape Cod and decided to play it again after many years of not playing it. I got the inspiration from Burt2481's QRP on the beach at Cape Cod. "If your fond of sand dunes and salty air".

  • Gary, listening to guys like you helps me realize what I'm doing all of this for. It's just to relax. What is it with the Rialto's that seem to be one of the only organs that can sound just as great without reverb?

Today I watched a Rialto K go by, in my own town no less, on Ebay. It's separate Leslie 101Isomonic tone cabinet went for $103 last night. I sat there with the bid box open to the end not bidding. Then the organ ( both were white!) went on & I bid, but lost to a max bidder-sold $137

  • @paulj0557 Hi Paul; The best sound a Rialto-K has was when it was played through a Leslie 102 and 103 combination. I had one years ago that I highly customized. Rialto-K organs usually require a complete rebuild which means replacing all of the electrolytic capacitors. Reverb is difficult for organs that use Leslie tone cabinets. Microphones work best for that. Gary

  • Ok... HAMMOND or WURLITZER ... you tell me what this is... It's OLS SCHOOLMONO ... orchesrtral instrumental dance type ORGAN music... principally lifted from my mums 78 rpm mono's... around 1959.. onto 3/8" reel to reel mono.. that I later remasterd... into this...

watch?v=Ywts6nM63yU ((AND)) go straight to the 8min mark... and play the wurlitzer... MY WAY.

  • Although I thumbed this UP - because its in MONO I had to add it to the other one -in my MONO - cheap as musicals... playlist.(?)

  • Ohhh> sadness hits me like a brick... (I tried adding &fmt=18 onto the back of this "hoping" it was a YT gklitch.. and... NAH
