and then what is Classics? I mean, the girl I'm following "qualified to HOPES" and whatever other score she needed. She competes in HOPES division (she's only 10), but I don't know what that means, exactly. Is it higher than level 10? Or is it a separate way of counting? Last I knew, she was level 8, and then boom! She's HOPES. She's been in TOPS every year since she was 7.. (diamond, diamond, then "A" team twice)
It's different than the regular level system. They can do both at the same time. If you go to USAG's website, they can explain it better than I can. Classics are the American Classic and the US Classic. I believe the Hopes kids compete in the US Challenge and American Challenge.

is elite qualifier where you qualify to be an elite gymnast. is it like a test or something?

Yes. They have to get a certain score to qualify to be an elite. If they get the qualifying score, they can go to Classics (American or US).
