You know what upsets me? When ppl criticize ppl for adopting out of the country. Ok yes there are kids in america who need adopting but at least here in america there are wonderful foster homes and they have a greater chance here. But the ppl outside this great country dont they live in broke down orphanages and it wouldn't hurt if someone here chose to adopt them. Stop criticizing adoption is a beautiful and wonderful thing no matter who or where someone chooses to adopt.

ive noticed that almost all the adoption videos on youtube are using this song...

@taevans1 how come it takes longer for others? does it depend on the child or the agency, or where you're adopting from? my aunt and uncle tried to adopt a child from russia, and it's been taking almost 2 years because they keep getting lost... this year is their second year, and apparently their now 3 year old daughter (and my cousin!) is coming home with them in about 4 months. is it normal for adoptions to take this long?

the more vids I watch, the more I want to adopt a child. I think I'll do that when it's time for me to build my own family. I would do that before even thinking of having a baby. There's plenty of kids in need of a mom out there...

you do know that most of the kids come from loving homes that the ss have just taken away from there mother and fathers so i hope you enjoy bringing up some1s kid, whos heart broken mothers and fathers who did every thing for there child are left with nothing all thanks to the ss

@Eurotrash4367 I'm not sure if you're replying to my comment because that didn't make any sense all I said is I want my baby to look like me...
-
@Eurotrash4367 I'm glad that they didn't create children; that is the ultimate in selfishness. I don't care about the other stuff you mentioned. I think that adopters are great, in general. I just wish that American adopters didn't overlook American orphans, rather than spending multiples to shop for foreign ones.
-
If your theory was correct most people would be adopting orphans from Africa but almost nobody does this because white Americans don't want black children. Asians and Europeans are much more fashionable. Middle class, liberals in America are all for black rights as long as they don't actually have to live near any. Voting for Obama and watching Oprah twice a week is about as close as they really care to get to black folks.
-
That will be difficult to find because it is impossible to tell if a child will have buck teeth until they are at least 5 or 6 years old.
-
I know three middle class white couples in their early 40's. They all have a lot in common:
1. The wife makes more money than the husband.
2. They drive imported hybrid vehicles.
3. They hate Bush and love Obama
4. They spent thousands of dollars to adopt Asian children instead of having children or adopting American orphans.
I personally find the entire situation pathetic.

@Eurotrash4367 The money spent on adopting a foreign kid could support several American adoptions. People shop for whatever breed they desire, and sometimes couch it in terms of how God directed them. Some want Asians; others want Eastern Europeans; less want Hispanics. Few choose African orphans when seeking foreign adoptions, yet those are the most abundant, and living in the poorest conditions.
There are plenty of orphans in America who need homes.

thank you for posting that! I have tears running down my face. Our son is Jeremiah and we met him when he was 2. Lots of complications w/the canadian gov't and finally, after 5 year wait, he became ours officially 9/21/07. He is 7 now. Praise God. And praise God for your beautiful daughters.

Thanks and congrats for you as well.
I was always wondering how things worked in Canada. I'm Canadian and my wife is American and we live in the states so we did everything via the American government.
Must have been a real test and journey of faith and prayer. God always remains faithful. God bless you.
