30 Years Of James Bond -- London Weekend Television Documentary

This is the crème de la crème, the original and best of James Bond tributes. The program was broadcast on Saturday October 3rd 1992 and followed the UK première of The Living Daylights. Although the stunts and special effects have been thoroughly documented on the DVD's since, this was the first program that lifted the lid on how they achieved them. Rare interviews with the late Derek Meddings and John Stears are featured here and have never been seen since. Also all 5 Bond directors and the 4 Bond's, up until that point agreed to be interviewed especially for the show. I don't remember Sean Connery giving an interview specifically related to Bond since he recorded this one during the filming of Rising Sun, so that's quite a coup in its self. Also there was some incredible behind the scenes footage like glimpses of George Lazenby's screen test and outtakes of Ross Kananga's crocodile run that although common place now were unseen at the time. There's also a great title sequence, the show was very nicely produced and left you wanting more.

  • This documentry shows us, the fans of these films we love so much just how dangerous they were and are too make, in this we get to see the real blood, guts and sweat that went into these great films that are made just for our enjoyment, no wonder they are classics, every fan should watch this show (although dated now, with no Pierce or Daniel) as it makes you appreciate these films even more.

  • @ptl1143 Yeah, but George Baker's voice was overdubbed - underneath that Lazenby did do a good job.

  • For me, Dalton left a strong impression in only two films. He had the physicality, voice, mannerism to play the Bond as seen by Ian Fleming and the filmmakers. Bond is dangerous, dark, but also an English gentleman.

  • i really like lazenby as well. pity he only got one movie. him connery and brosnan are my favourites

  • My favourites were:

    Connery

    Lazenby

    I even like Craig.

Brosnan was a little to snobby and posh for me and Dalton, I just couldn't see it. Moore was a little too refined some how. I still watch all of them though

  • DAlton is awesome!
