Frowland - Trout Mask Replica - Captain Beefheart And His Magic Band
Testo:
My smile is stuck
I cannot go back to your Frownland
My spirit's made up of the ocean
And the sky 'n' the sun 'n' the moon
'n' all my eyes can see
I cannot go back to your land of gloom
Where black jagged shadows
Remind me of the coming of your doom
I want my own land
Take my hand and come with me
It's not too late for you
It's not too late for me
To find my homeland
Where a man can stand by another man
Without an ego flying
With no man lying
'n' no one dying by an earthly hand
Let the devils burn and the beggar learn
'n' the little girls that live in those old worlds
Take my kind hand
My smile is stuck
I cannot go back to your Frownland
I cannot go back to your Frownland

  • a sublime skeleton of the blues lies within all of the captain's music. there's a blues song in there somewhere

  • Captain Beefheart, in my opinion, took the blues away from crass imitators like Cream and put it back in the same realm as the original Howlin' Wolf/Son House stuff. The way he sings "I want my own land" is amazing.

  • This is the best music!!!

  • after hearing this song i wonder why all music isn't like this

  • Yeah, you're right Vertreter.

In order to be intelligent I would need to fabricate some esoteric, quasi-philosophical reason why a recording of a prolonged wet fart is brilliant.

    Good form.

  • Cool Story Brah

  • I know that this is too much for simple minds.

  • Actually, I hated it the first time I heard it.

But I have learned to love it.

  • Envelope restructured tightly on are the flaps of cream jeeves.
