@BayouCityHtown That the thing the F-35 is a strike fighter not a true fighter like the F-22. It has less manuverability and higher LO. Its been said that it will dominate because it has better radar and such...yet a AWACS would destroy that ADVANTAGE and they have already admitted the aircraft is at a disadvantage agaisnt purely air superiority fighter. So they will need more birds to make them survivbale.
Just a bum deal.

@valcan321 I agree 100%. The F-22 is a whole different breed. It gets me a little upset when people talk like they are simular, they are not even close. I just do not like the F-35.

@BayouCityHtown The problem with the F-35 is the insistence on it being able to do everything with basicly the same frame including both STOVL and Carrier landings which put ALOT of different stresses on aircraft and make alot of problems for the A version.
Now its just become a political program. Would have rather had more f-22's which would have been around 120mil or less if we had gotten 600-800 than the f-35 with its 3k+ prop. run is 135-180mil a aircraft.

@evoldevildogs The F-35 is garbage compared to the F-16. America will regret ever putting them into service. It's all about money, not about what's in the best interest of the people who serve.
