as u recall when it came to the election ur wonderful Reagan did a backroom deal with the criminal Iranian government to hold the hostages so Carter wouldn't be able to say he brought them home..Reagan and his corporate backers wanted him in office because he was their puppet.. they used every dirty trick even bargaining with the lives of hostages to get the reactionary vote promising the trickle down economy:

The Dems couldn't even get all of their own members to vote for the plan. Some were persuaded with kickbacks and backroom deals, others were not.
