First, to say that Affirmative Action should be a relic of the 1960s assumes that the practices and admissions procedures of the 1960s were successful in creating diversity. Incorrect. Also, one of the reasons and the key reasons for race to be considered in college admission is the simple fact that there is a disparity within the amount of minorities who attend college and the amount of minorities who are imprisoned or who are impoverished.

How could any logical, reasonable, intellectually honest person even begin to defend race-based preferences in college admissions? It's insanity. Affirmative action needs to become a mere relic of the 1960s, buried in history books in the "really, really bad ideas from the past" section.
