You learn how to climb in Autumn Plains from MoneyFags.
And Skill points are just random things that the creators of the game added in as a bonus. If you get them all, it unlocks two bonus features at the end of the game. sadly, my ps2 died and i can no loner get to my file but i think there's like 20 or 30 of them in this game.
