A 140mw green laser makes red, yellow and yellow-green LEDs glow in their respective colour. An orange filter aka laser goggles filter out the green laser light.

  • put a voltage meter on the led and it will read out some voltage as you light it up with laser. I did it with a green led and it read out 1.5 volts.

  • Indeed it does.

  • why's the lasers dot yellow?

  • Because of the goggles that block the green light.

  • it's not making them light up, it's just refracting laser light around inside the LED plastic.

  • No, the laser makes the LED's die to emit it's own light. The laser becomes the energy source and the LED's leads actually put out voltage.
