I'm feeling totally fantastic, and that is an understatement!
I've had a couple of blips recently though. The first was after eating some high fat raw food about a month ago. For a few days afterwards I had a touch of the IBS symptoms. The second was 2 weeks ago after I ate some healthy cooked food. I had rice and lentils with a bit of sauce from a stew my wife made. I think normally this would have been OK, but I ate too much, plus I wasn't quite fully recovered from eating the high fat raw gourmet food a couple of weeks previously. My greens intake had reduced too, as my blender broke a couple of months ago and I haven't had green smoothies for a while.
My digestion was rather messed up. My poos were off colour and fatigue was knocking at my door. I also felt a little congested. I wasn't ill but I sensed that my body was trying to rid itself of something. I can normally run a half marathon quite comfortably and feel great afterwards, but trying to run in the few days after both these occasions proved rather more difficult. It seemed as though my legs were weighed down with heavy weights. Even after quite short runs I felt really drained. My stomach and bowel were groaning and grumbling, quite literally, when ever I ran. I couldn't run for more than 50 minutes without having to be back for a number 2 toilet stop.
All this was a sharp reminder of where I had come from 2 years previously and I didn't want to slide down that slippery slope again! Even after 3 days of clean low fat raw eating I still wasn't right. I decided to try out a bit of artificial therapy to help things along... enemas! Three days after my cooked meal, I did 2 short enemas and then did the same thing the next morning. On both occasions, afterwards I felt rather good, chilled out and even elated! It took another couple of days for my poos to look in better colour and shape but I felt pretty good straight away.
Throughout this and for the past 10 weeks or so I still managed to keep running 30 miles a week. I've been eating mainly mono meals of one type of fruit, followed by a BIG salad every evening.
I went from feeling not quite right with a grumbling digestion and frequent loo stops, to feeling good, very good, then awesome. Now I'm out in the stratosphere heading for outer space!
I can't express enough how good this diet is, especially when combined with a regular exercise programme. It allows your body to heal and loose weight, you can then become healthy. It is likely to enable you to recover enough so that you can exercise and become fit, even very fit! The most amazing thing of all though, which I still find difficult to express as I run out of words, that perhaps only tears of joy and gratitude can express, is the sense of well-being and joy that you can experience on a daily basis.
Bless you!
Kind regards,
Stuart
ps. Filming done by my son, so please excuse the camera shakes!

I believe that the ultimate foods are fruit and tender greens. The best way to eat them is pretty much as they are with minimal processing or additional flavours. Spices have on occasions really messed up my digestion and triggered my old symptoms. On rare occasions I might have them, but I am very careful. We might like spices but the delicate balance of gut flora inside us doesn't.

Chard is amazing and so easy to grow! I had about 50 parsley plants, loads of lettuce, pakchoy, celery, and much more. It's hard work getting the beds made (see my earlier video), but beds make it so much easier and more pleasant.

Go for it! Low fat raw food makes me feel great! If you can't get hold of ripe fruit for whatever reason though, then I'd suggest cooked whole starch based foods like potatoes, rice and lentils rather than high fat raw foods like nuts, seeds and oil.
With some planning and protection, you should be able to grow most of your greens.
I'm from Doncaster and I've been living in Durham for the past 20 years or so. Nice to here from you.
Stuart :-)

Do you just blend/juice the greens into a smoothie, or do you eat some of them raw as they are?
You should make some videos of your recipes and how to make raw dishes!

I juice greens, or blend greens or eat a big salad. Either is fine as long as you get the greens in you. Initially it takes time to get your digestive ability up, so juice and smoothies are best for a dodgy digestion.
My raw dishes consist of peeling a bunch of bananas, or eating whole lettuces - not good video material! I feel best when I don't make fancy food combinations. I eat some cook food too, but keep it really simple. No sauces, salt, sugar or fat. ie still on 80 10 10.

Merry Christmas!
I've been running for most of the past 9 months, averaging around 30 miles per week for 4 months. On and off I've done some basic body core exercises (I may do a video on them), but I've been more consistent with them since I joined the gym 6 weeks ago. So for the past 6 weeks I've exercised my core with things like press-ups and crunches, plus I've used weights to strengthen my shoulders. I use the running for my legs. This diet works to best when you exercise.
