Ethno Nightlife Teams Up With BASKETBALL WIVES LA STAR, Gloria Govan, & Project LACE For Their Partnership Celebration

Project LACE (Loving Abandoned Children Everywhere) celebrates their partnership with GLORIA GOVAN on Friday the 13th @ Cafe Entourage in Hollywood

WHO: DAVID KANG, Founder & CEO, Project LACE (Loving Abandoned Children Everywhere), after serving fours years in the US Marine Corps, David began his business career as an entrepreneur in the entertainment industry in 1997. Since then, David has founded and operated four successful casting companies providing casting services for background and principal actors. He has worked on feature films such as Mr. Woodcock, Balls of Fury, World Trade Center, Disturbia, Rush Hour 3, and Rent. His clients for commercial casting include: Budweiser, T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Wal-Mart, American Express, BMW, and Johnson & Johnson. David is also one of the biggest music video casting directors in the industry, working with artists such as Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Jonas brothers, Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, and Usher.

Despite the demands of owning and running a casting company in a demanding industry, David's inclination toward projects benefiting children started with a book. In 2005, David published the children's book, Song and Juniper, nominated for The Henry Bergh Children's Book Award and widely available through major bookstores. Currently, David also serves as a board member for Create Now, a nonprofit providing arts-based mentoring for at-risk youth throughout Southern California.

As a dad, David is proud to raise his six-year-old son, Ethan, who has been David's inspiration in many ways, including the origination of Project LACE's shoeLACE bands.

GLORIA GOVAN was moved when she was approached by David Kang, Founder & CEO of Project LACE to establish a partnership with the organization. After researching and learning more about what Project LACE, Gloria was honored and humbled by the offer and accepted. Gloria may have been best known as the fiancée of LA Lakers' forward Matt Barnes, but now, Gloria Govan is best known as the principle cast member of BASKETBALL WIVES LA:

a spin-off the original hit-series for vh1 BASKETBALL WIVES.

After relocating to Los Angeles from Orlando and surviving Barnes' first season playing for the most recognizable team in the world and though the engagement is over, she's keeping busy both as mom to her twin boys and taking on a new challenges as she eases into the Southern California lifestyle.

BASKETBALL WIVES LA premiered in August to record numbers for vh1 and the first season became an instant hit and the network ordered a second season which goes into production in March '12. Currently, Gloria is pursuing her modeling and acting career, she is focused on her new endeavors and her philanthropy work. She has over 70,000+ followers on twitter (@glogovan) and during the holidays she continued her philanthropy by staying connected to her Twitter and Facebook fans with Turkey and $100 VISA gift cards giveaways and toy drives. Also, Gloria was named one of Latina Magazine's 25 most beautiful African-American Latinas in Hollywood. Latina Magazine lauds Gloria as "a sweet and down to earth girl" who "manages to keep things classy no matter how much drama" comes her way!

WHAT: Project LACE's (Loving Abandoned Children Everywhere) partnership celebration with Gloria Govan's to help raise awareness and money for the organization. Project LACE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping end poverty, loneliness, and neglect of children everywhere by implementing programs, coming to the aid of other organizations helping the youth and worldwide medical missions.
