This whole area encompasses the possibilities of where Annie Chapman, 2nd canonical victim of Jack The Ripper is buried - though it has been buried twice over since 1888.

  • Wow. What a mass jumble of head stones.

  • Indeed - there is no way Annie could be found here. It's a vast area and the grave has been buried into twice more since 1888.

  • Creepy! How do they bury twice? Are the subsequent burials not as deep?

  • I guess that must be it. In some cases, if they can't bury any further, bones are often dug up and buried in mass graves elsewhere but I don't think that is the case here. All sources I have suggest Annie's still in there somewhere.

  • Any famous burials here?? We used to live in Barking, so that wasn't far from us.

  • Afraid I can't help you with that one - sorry! A bit out of my realm of knowledge.

  • My Sister Is buried at this cemetary. she died in 1963. she was in a poor grave. And after 15 years dug her up. And put somewhere else, and so on, until they dug up 14,000 poor graves and put them all together so nobody knows where they r now. This cemetery looks worse today than in this video. The people who run this cemetary should be ashamed. This cemetary is now a muslim cemetary.

  • Spooky horrible mate!

  • Wow. That is one of the most depressing cemeteries I have ever seen. Sure doesn't hold up to our local rolling hills and white picket fence ones. Ick at the crowding.

  • It's actually been buried twice over since Annie Chapman's funeral so yes, it is indeed a little crowded.

  • Hi - simple answer... no. None of the Ripper victims were Jewish.
