A bit of a rambler on this one. Going over what I needed to do to get PhysX working with my Radeon HD 5870.

  • lol, you need to do cable mgmt. with your cables on your desk.

Are you using a workstation mobo on your gaming setup?

  • Well it was the best x58 MB back when I bought it last April and it had true 3 way 16xpcie and tri-sli.

the cables don't bother me. I need to find a decent USB hub. but what i really need to do is dust heh :)

  • Thanks for the tutorial.

  • you're welcome

  • Pretty damn cool setup you got there :-D

  • I remember when they released the HD Radeon 3000 series they specifically said in many articles that they had put Physx chips onboard but couldn't turn them on due to legal issues or something of that nature, and that the 4000 series would have them but the would be turned on, could you shed some light on this?

  • Will this work if I had 5770 Crossfire and GTS 250 for Physx? Please answer as soon as possible, Thanks!

  • can anyone run the super sonic sled demo with the 5870+physx

  • On my 5750 I just installed Physx from Nvidia with no problem? nvidia.com/object/physx-9.10.0513-driver.html

Is this different from your 5870?

  • I have a 5830, and I used a LG Flatron W1943TB (1360x768) with a reallllllllly old Sylvania flatpanel monitor (1024x768) for my eyefinity setup. Logic says that the card would change the resolution of the LG to match that of the Sylvania, but logic does not apply here. It changed both resolutions to 1280x768.

Check my channel for the video proof if you want.

  • Great video, helped me setup a 9800 GTX+ to run PhysX with an ATI 5850 as the main card in an Eyefinity setup. I managed to get the 9800 card to work just by plugging in a VGA monitor bacle to the card and leaving the other end of the cable unplugged. Thanks for the technical insight of this video.

  • Man, dude, thanks a ton! This is exactly what I was thinking of doing, GTS 250, but I have a 5850 Vapor-X, which is awesome. Pretty stoked for Mafia 2 so thats what I'm doing this for, but, also for PhysX in General.

  • I see, would you see a real world difference between a board with 16x8x8, 16x16x8 or 16x16x16. I'm not a super hard core gamer, so I really don't know, but it seem logical for me to think that in real world applications the difference would be very minimal if any at all.

    Enjoy your Eyefinity
