I think I could have made the saddle at Vx, but was heading south so flew the East Fk to the South Fk southbound.

It looks like you might have cleared the saddle in the ridge line. Did you? We tried in our C-180 but chickened out. Although, I did see some turbo 210's other high performance aircraft make it.
