Feelin Good Cover - Michael Buble

Hey Everyone,

This is a cover of Feelin Good sung in the style of Michael Buble. I used the Zoom Karaoke version of this song to back me that I bought from iTunes. I used a MXL 990 condenser mic plugged through a Tascam recording box and into Garage Band. Some of this turned out a little flat, but I really just felt like doing it and getting it done. Hope you enjoy and thanks for listening.

hey man, I have a problem recording with this mic, but im thinking its something having to do with my settings. it's like 2 weeks old, and i used to be able to record clear vocals fine, now when i record the vocals come up as short, distorted cracks instead. any idea whats wrong? im new to this.

first off sorry for my complete incompetence when it comes to recording and such :P

I'm looking to record vocals using a loop/guitar workstation (digitech gnx3). With the right cable will this mic do the trick?

@dimestoresaint7 I just looked up the manual for the GNX3 and I don't think this mic will work. Since it is a condenser microphone it has to be powered and I didn't see anything about that in the manual. This means you need to go with a dynamic mic like a SM58 or another microphone like that. You can still get a great sound without a condenser mic. You have XLR input so any standard dynamic mic should work just fine. Good luck with it! Message me if you have any other questions.

And the 990 sounds MUCH better than i had expected - everyone seems to say it's only a very cheap one and how it would sound kinda muffled but i really think it sounded very nice in your video.
