Here's a short vid of a Art tech Diamond 2500 Glider that flys straight up, gets blown backwards then dives down into the ground.
It crashed because he left the controller (transmitter) on the floor & launched it with both hands.
Since then he's raided his piggy bank & is now back in the air :)

Camera used: 808 Car Keys Micro Camera #3 (720 x 480)
Music: Duffy - Rain On Your Parade

  • You didn` get enough air speed before you gave it that much elevator .It will stall if you give it too much up elevator too soon. Gotta get some air over the wings to give you lift. The more speed the more air to get lift. That`s what happened to you . At least that is what it looks like. You want to give it a little up elevator in small increments, just to get some altitude ...Go to a guy called pecangrower and see what I mean .It is the hawk sky plane but still the same idea. good luck bud.

  • @lewandlo Thanks for trying to help but it wasnt the elevator that caused the plane to fly like a rocket, it happend because he threw it into the wind with two hands so as he was picking the controller up off the floor the plane was already out of control.

He's flown this plane alot since without any problems, its a great glider... not all bad news :)

  • OMG!!! Same crash here with the same glider! Only that for me it was my first flight and I launched it with full flaps, full throttle and against the wind... big mistake!

  • @ddalcu Ouch, i think this was his second try, he got the glider in january & couldnt wait for the weather to get better, the first time he tried the ground was wet and because the glider's so heavy when it hit the floor (nose first) he made a big ditch in the grass lol... needed a new fuselarge :(

  • I hate when that happens, equipment failure in one thing but when its your own fault it hurts even more.

I just took delivery of one of these today, different graphics only, no flap servos and I have to finish the flap cut-outs but no big deal, plane looks great and is built well.

  • Just bad luck...

  • WHY did he (you) launch without the controller in hand?

Why not hold TX with one hand and throw plane with other hand.

At the very least he should have had a neck strap so he could get to the TX quicker.

I admit I have my Phoenix 2000 set up, balanced and trimmed so well that I could easily launch on calm day 'hands off' but I would not be that stupid. My stupid effort was not doing a radio check before launch, yup CRUNCH. I had the ailerons plugged into flaps and vice versa - doh!

  • Thats a real shame the glider looked great

  • noob

  • well if ya launch wihout the controls in your hand.....kinda asking for it really.

  • Oh, that hurts money bag :(

  • i don't like to see any fellow flyers crash. it sucks! i've had my share of crashes but it's part of the hobby. hope you get your plane flying again. cheers

  • What kind of dickhead launches an RC Glider or plane with the Tx on the ground ffs!?
