i just read the book and i think poirot was disguised about the beating of woman. i hope i'm not wrong because then i'd have to say i hate poirot

Think about it, it is connected to the BEGINNING of the film as well as it's end -- it is very clever of the author to create in us (the audience) a doubt about him or add other dimensions. Can not a fictional character grow or change? How is Poirot feeling about the man who committed suicide...how is he processing it? These are your clues.

"Justice" is beating up a woman who is pregnant with another man? what is this misogyny poirot :( what if she was raped? what about men that have tons of wives? shouldnt they be beaten up too? gosh. suppose that point of view was normal back then, but.. i'd have expected more of poirot
