To the best of my knowledge, this is the world's first USB interface for Super Nintendo / Super Famicom games.

Note: This is one of the few LEGAL ways of playing a commercial SNES game on an emulator. Just because you own a game cart doesn't mean you are allowed to download the corresponding ROM somewhere.

  • So you put the code into that Atmel microcontroller?

Or you don't do anything with that? I mean: you just plug and play? nothing more??

  • @mgedier The microcontroller only acts as the USB interface between computer and cartridge. Execution of the SNES code is done by the emulator, snes9x.

  • why do this just use roms much easier

  • @SeGaSaTuRn1994 See the FAQ on my homepage :)

  • stupid question. Do you plan to have it read the SRAM as well in SNES9x format format? I can't imagine why it wouldn't be possible to read/write to the SRAM and present it as a logical file on the file system. Come to think of it, i don't see why multiple formats aren't possible as well, not just SNES9x.

  • @taitaisanchez The current set of features goes way beyond what is shown in this very first video. Check the homepage, and you will find that SRAM has been around for roughly 15 months now.

  • with this can i , delete rom and load other rom...

  • This technology is pretty useless, you need a usb cartridge not a cartridge reading system. If you want to play games on laptop via emulator than why not just download roms?

  • sweet!

  • This is genius.

  • col
