  • Know this sounds strange, but those Turkish bards were seriously rocking out! I used to watch this program all the time as a kid, and one my favorite parts was those guys. Thank you for posting this!

  • Oh o.k. as i hadn't realised that it was used for the purpose of lists as that now makes sense. Also interesting to learn about the bards who sang the event(s) for generations until passed down to homer.

  • The Mycenaeans may never even have realized that their form of writing could be used for purposes other than bookkeeping. Certainly, all the Linear B texts discovered so far are lists, lists and more lists.

    But as you will see in episode 5, luckily there were others who did record history...

  • The one question i have is that if this event really had happened then why didn't the Mycenaeans themselves record it as they had written language known today as Linear B script?
