@Jula7Jilia I use to work in a retirement home. Some I can understand because they need more care then what the family can give, and it's honestly cheaper then a live in nurse. Some families would visit them almost everyday or week. So not ALL were just dumped like some can be. I took care of some haven't seen their families in years, its sad really.

@mrspaiva I think because she and Bob were not married, and technically Bob and Ruth on the other hand were STILL married. So say if Mary had brought the idea up to Bob, he would have said no. Because eventually, he would have thought Ruth would come back for them. But if Mary had put them in boarding school, there wouldn't have been one of the points of the film. Mary home-wrecked another woman's married life and home. So all of Ruth's life was revenge for Mary's.
