Manually Update Google Nexus 7 to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean

This video will show you how to manually update your stock Google Nexus 7 from android 4.1.1 to Android 4.1.2 JB. THIS METHOD WORKS TO UPDATE TO 4.2 AND 4.2.1, JUST DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT FILE BELOW I also talk about how to update if you have a custom recovery installed instead of stock recovery. I have installed the SDK and ADB correctly based on your other video. When I type in adb devices, no devices are listed. I cannot continue to reboot recovery either. Please help!

install pdanet on your pc and try again

i followed everything correctly on the other vid that you posted to install the adb and sdk tools and when i type in the cmd prompt "abd devices" nothing shows up. ive checked everything ive written down and followed the vid step by step and is there any fix at all for this?

I tried updating via wi-fi. Once it restarts, it goes to the recovery image with the red exclamation mark. And it doesnt anything after that. If i try entering the menu (volume up + power), it just restarts the tablet instead.

help me! I am on 4.1.2 and I am trying to follow your video and I get all the way up to where I type "adb reboot recovery" my nexus 7 reboots and everything but when i try to hold the volume up button and power it doesnt go to the list of options to download zip onto my nexus...ive tried different combinations it just restarts my tablet :(

Hmm...when you do this update, you lose everything that is stored in your tablet?
