Hundreds of veterans of war gathered at Winter Soldier: Iraq and Afghanistan - Eyewitness Accounts of the Occupations to hear and give testimony about these wars. The hearings - largely ignored by mainstream media - were held from March 13-16, 2008 at the National Labor College, Silver Spring, Maryland.
Videos of testimonies may be viewed at the website of Iraq Veterans Against the War - http://www.ivaw.org - which also has related materials.
Thank you to Holly Near for giving permission to use her song - "I Am Willing" - as the musical background for this video. "I Am Willing" by Holly Near is © 2003 Hereford Music (ASCAP). It was used by permission; all rights reserved. http://www.hollynear.com
I offer my personal thanks to the veterans and others who testified at Winter Soldier. It took courage to give testimony on first hand accounts of these wars. And, I thank IVAW for giving me media credentials to cover this historic event.
I dedicate this video to the victims of war in Iraq and Afghanistan and do so in memory of the over a million who have been killed in these wars.

God Bless these men and women - I'm sure the scars are virtually impossible to see on the majority of them - scars of honor!
Ron Paul will bring you home! We want you here to protect us from our own govt.
We love all of you and I pray for you every night.
"Lord, please protect these brave men and women and bring them home. Please also comfort their families, especially those who have lost a loved one. These men and women will also protect us here at home. Amen"

"The criminals that lied us into this illegal occupation should be tried and convicted!"
I agree with you 1000%! The real evil-doers are living here in America. They make up what is known as US Government! Send to The Hague for trial, charge and convict them for war crimes and other atrocities!

A Thank You to our veterans, who put everything on the line - for us, for a belief, for dedication and honor - only to be used as manipulated pawns.

If only we had a mainstream American media that cared about the thoughts and emotions and experiences of the more than 200 Iraq vets who took part in Winter Soldier, and wanted to tell the real story of what's happening in the Middle East, with the words of those who have lived it first hand. Media outlets from around the world were there. The American national media ignored it completely. That fact alone tells us that our MSM is willingly complicit in the crimes of the Bush administration.
