good to see em still there <3. I was worried after reading an article in the newspaper back in 2002ish that someone wanted to export them to be made into burgers.
Now i understand and don't mind that people eat horse meat but our Exmoor ponies? no way!.

I've seen a WILD Exmoor too, I can't remember the name of the stable but me and my mum where on a hack and we saw a herd of them, they're beautiful, we luckily got a photo of them.

Yes they are a mix, they have a lot of exmoor in them but they also have other breeds. I believe once a year they are gathered and auctioned off, not sure though :-/

Oh thats a shame cause they are a beautiful breed!!!

Did you know that the exmoor pony is meant to be more endangered than the giant panda? Also during the war years there was only meant to have being about 50. It worries me greatly, as they are so beautiful and are one of the few wild horses that can actually be classed as a breed. Also I love the quantocks, when you were there did you see any quantock ponies? (not a classed breed just a mixed horses roaming wild). They were what brought my love for horses alive again :-]

Thanks for your comment... it's very interesting. I didn't know there were 'Quantock ponies'. Are they are mix of breeds?
