In the 50's, in Louisiana, the smart populist, manipulative and wolf hick Willie Stark is elected governor with the support of the lower social classes. He joins a team composed of his bodyguard and friend Sugar Boy; the journalist from an aristocratic family Jack Burden; the lobbyist Tiny Duffy; and his mistress Sadie Burke, to face the opposition of the upper classes. When the influent Judge Irwin supports a group of politicians in their request of impeachment, Stark assigns Jack to find some dirtiness along the life of Irwin, leading to a tragedy in the end. • I know there's alot of hate going on with this movie, but I have to say, I really like this version of the speech better than the b&w version. Penn's performance is powerful and magnetic and so captivating that you forget what the character is really all about. He IS Huey Long in this film. LOL.. I haven't read the book yet but am really wanting to right now.

  • Sean Penn was a great hero in this movie. Fighting for the people. Could you imagine that there are people in real life like those greedy rich family members of Jude Law? Who are too fucking greedy and selfish to give a little to the people?

  • @NewjackPreacher we dont care!

  • The 1949 movie was better!
