The Chambers Covered Bridge in Cottage Grove, Oregon, is the only remaining covered railroad bridge west of the Mississippi. It recently underwent an extensive rehabilitation that involved dismantling the bridge completely and reconstructing it with as much of the original wood as possible.

Over the course of only two hours on a cold October morning, crews used forklifts to push the reconstructed bridge out over the river on temporary steel beams.

Close to my hometown of Eugene, next time I visit, I am visiting all the bridges out there.! If you are a Covered Bridges freak like me, check out the 'Covered Bridges' app in the iTunes App Store. Find more bridges you love! Cheers!

Thank you for posting the time lapse video. I have included a link on the City's page to your video. The longer regular speed video of the bridge moving takes almost 7 minutes and can be accessed on the City's webpage. It was nice to see the shot of the forklifts working. Great job on the project.
