This is one of 15 Christmas carols written by Michigan native Alfred Burt between 1942 and 1954. Burt died in 1954, but his music lives on. This is one of his most popular and a favorite of mine. James Taylor does a terrific version of it on his "James Taylor at Christmas" CD, but there have been a number of other recording artists who have covered it including, Dave Grusin, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Kenny Loggins, Andy Williams, George Winston and Mannheim Steamroller, to name a few. Hope you all have a very happy, healthy and peace filled holiday season. Peace and love, you can't beat it.

  • I love this song, and your straightforward performance of it is about as close to perfect as I can imagine. I stumbled across it only yesterday and feel blessed to have found it. Thank you for sharing, Mark.

  • @ConwayBob Thank you, Bob, for the kind thoughts. So glad you "stumbled" in for a listen. For some other straightforward Christmas music, you should check out Mary Chapin Carpenter's Christmas CD. It has some real gems. All the best to you and yours for the holidays and coming New Year. Cheers. ~ Mark
